TRAFFIC! ~Car Plays~ [03.13- Festival del Sol] Inspired by the WoW (Without Walls) Festival at La Jolla Playhouse, our 7th graders will be writing and performing not for the stage, but for the car! Plays will happen in the front seats, while the back seats house our audience! Each car has a story, and our audience be a part of them as they travel from car to car! Each class will be a fully functioning theatre company, responsible for the Script, Production, Artistic Direction, Education/Research, and Performance of 7 Car Plays. Check out some beautiful images of our process! From script writing, through rehearsals, car washing, and exhibition night! On exhibition night, we invited our back seat audiences to take video in each car! *Click here for some BACK SEAT VIDEO! |

Street Shadows ~ILLUMINATING OUR PATHS: an exploratory exploration of our past, present, & future~ [05.29.13] As a student in the middle of your HTMCV journey, how have you made your mark thus far? What are the great lessons we’ve learned and what advice do we have for our future selves? As we have traveled on these streets from 6th grade to 7th and now from 7th to 8th, what are the tales we have to tell- the stories that have been hidden in the shadows, and now brought to light. Together, we’ll explore the underground world of street art & graffiti and marry it with the ancient Japanese art form of Shadow Puppetry. We’ll be creating fables that tell the tales of our journeys and the lessons we have learned. We’ll be collaborating with HTMCV Engineers and Artists in an “Exploratory Exploration” of past, present, future, creating projects of light and dark, shadow and story, footprints and steps forward. |
